We took our time driving from Arisaig to Edinburgh, making several stops along the way to stretch our legs, grab cappuccinos, shop for souvenirs. Pitlochry proved the smartest choice for lunch and our longest pit stop. For a Sunday, the small village was packed and finding parking proved challenging. Bret dropped me off at a shop and park…when he returned he told me he had to park near the loch, and I thought he was joking. Nope! Once he trekked back to my location, we shopped and ate lunch before tackling the drive once again.
Norton House Hotel & Spa
Relieved to reach our final stay near the Edinburgh Airport, we shuffled wearily into Norton House and checked in. The porter, a friendly gentleman in formal attire, ushered us to our room.
We relaxed for a bit and headed to our dinner reservation in the Brasserie. As it was Mother’s Day (in the U.S.), Bret treated me to a fabulous dinner, complete with dessert and after-dinner drinks.
